Bathroom Design
Bathroom designs are some of the trickiest. A bathroom often has two entirely opposite personalities – it must energise you when you need to get going or relax you at the end of the day. Both personalities need to be achieved perfectly. Bathrooms range from beautiful en suite additions to a main, through simple water-closets to practical boot-rooms where you might hose down the dog! Bathrooms are frequently squeezed into the smallest, or most awkwardly shaped spaces and all require an intricate, safe mix of water and electricity.
The first step in how to design a bathroom is always a thorough consultation with you. We need to discover what you want in the bathroom, how it will be used, who will use it, and must get a solid understanding of your tastes for the design and aesthetics. After that we can begin to plot the available room space and pinpoint the location of any existing services so we can start mapping a spatial plan and layout.
At Studio Hinton we have learned over many years to involve our contractors at this very early stage so we can pre-empt any problems that might otherwise appear during construction. Fixing problems later in the schedule are time consuming and can be expensive. We like to get it right the first time.
Once we have fully calculated the proportions and what’s possible, we create designs and layouts to show you mock-ups and samples of the interior design. We like to source surfaces and sanitary products from specialist global suppliers to create something bespoke in your home, so expect beautiful details and unique materials. When you’re totally happy with the design, work can begin. We construct a project management plan, assign contractors from our pool of professionals and usually appoint a site manager to get construction underway while we focus on purchasing the materials.
Some clients like to be involved during a build, others prefer to leave and come back when it’s complete – whatever works best for you is fine. We stay involved at every step and stage until you walk back through that door and are happy with the result. Whether it’s a luxurious wet-room or single water-closet; our job is to create something beautiful and functional that will make you smile each time you enter.
