Work in progress
This is the gut renovation of a 500m2 chalet in the French part of the Swiss Alps. The chalet was in good condition when it was purchased in 2019, and the initial intention was not to do much more than a light renovation and full furnishing. As planning began in 2020, the clients gradually decided to change more and more parts of the interior and eventually the project turned into a full gut renovation. Most of the floorplan was restructured, two bedrooms and one bathroom were added, hammam showers are being added to the bathrooms, a spa area was added, the kitchen is being updated and modernized, all the floors and the electrical wiring are being redone,
custom joinery as well as doors, architraves and baseboards are being drawn up, the entire staircase has been gutted and new stairs have been designed, and the whole place is being furnished. Beautiful natural materials such as stones and woods are being carefully selected as well as all the fittings, the hardware and the light fixtures. The goal is to achieve a warm and inviting feeling in this chalet, as well as a modern, yet timeless look. The clients are building a vacation home for themselves, their kids and their grandkids. The love they have for their family is felt in every corner of this project. It is a true passion project for them, and that passion is infectious.
